It’s been a busy couple of months since my last post, I don’t know where the time has gone, but I do know that my flowers have been doing what they do best, growing and flowering…in abundance! To be honest I can’t keep up with them all, I must get on top of succession sowing next year, but that said, it’s so lovely to be able to pick quantities of blooms to bring into the house.

I started selling my flowers in June. That is a challenge too, selling myself doesn’t come easily to me, and selling flowers I’ve grown is an extension of promoting myself. But in order to achieve what I’ve set out to do, build a business from growing and selling British flowers, I have had to get ‘out there’.

In so doing I’ve been fortunate to meet some lovely people who are almost passionate about my flowers as I am. They know who they are, so if they happen to read this blog, thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

My overall dream is not just to grow my flowers to sell to florists but to do the floristry as well. Having taken a one day hand tied bouquet course with Georgia at The Sussex Flower School last month, yesterday I decided it was high time I practised what I’d learned. I have to say there is something very special about cutting flowers you’ve grown yourself, and creating something like the image below with them.
